Khawaja Asif beats the heat by dipping in Sialkot’s canal – M Haris

SIALKOT: As hot weather grips Pakistan, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif decided to cool off by taking a dip in the Motra Canal in Sialkot, Punjab on Tuesday. 

The defence minister was seen having fun with his son Asad Khawaja as both of them jumped in the canal being surrounded by the people. 

As soon as the people saw Asif bathing in the canal, they gathered around him and took pictures and videos. In the videos, he could be seen wearing a casual t-shirt. 

Several parts of Pakistan, especially Punjab, are gripped by hot weather with people finding different ways to cool themselves. 

However, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) last week predicted isolated showers all over Pakistan from coming today. 

The Met Office stated that moist currents from the Arabian Sea are likely to penetrate the upper and central parts of the country.

“A Shallow westerly wave is also likely to approach western parts of the country on June 18,” the advisory read.

Similar weather conditions have been forecast for areas of Punjab, including Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala and others.
