PTI’s Sanam Javed asserts legal challenges will not silence her – M Haris

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and social media activist Sanam Javed has declared that legal cases cannot silence her, expressing confidence that “freedom is near” for all PTI members.

Speaking informally to the media outside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) after her appearance, the PTI-associated activist stated, “I am no longer worried about false cases. The more cases they create, the more they will be exposed.”

“About 200 cases have been filed against the PTI founder, which is nothing but political revenge,” she maintained.

Javed expressed her motive for moving courts for bail in the cases registered against her.

“Wherever cases are registered, I will go there to seek bail. The time is not far when we will all be free. Soon, the courts will dismiss these false cases one by one.”

Javed also highlighted the issue of being denied family visits, saying, “My family has come to meet me, but they are not being allowed. I am being harassed for political revenge, but these cases cannot silence me.”

Two days ago, Javed filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) concerning her further arrests in additional cases.

The petition was submitted by Javed’s father and is set for a hearing with LHC’s Justice Shahram Sarwar.

The federal government, the Punjab government, and the Inspector General (IG) of Punjab Dr Usman Anwar were among 11 entities named as respondents.

Earlier this month, on June 5, Javed was once again arrested in a separate case.

The development came after the admission by Sargodha jail authorities, before LHC’s Justice Muhammad Waheed Ahmad Khan, that they had received a “robkar” pertaining to another case in which she had previously secured bail from an anti-terrorism court.

Javed’s father had filed a habeas corpus petition in the Lahore High Court, seeking the release of his daughter from what he claimed was her illegal detention by the jail authorities.
