Ex-army chief Bajwa’s relative fails to appear in court for anti-corruption case – M Haris

Relatives of former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa failed to appear for an inquiry into allegations of money laundering and acquisition of illegal assets, in Lahore.

Sabir Hamid Mithu, the father-in-law of the former army chief’s son, along with Chaudhry Ashraf Gharki, and Hammad Mushtaq, had been summoned to appear before the Anti-Corruption Establishment’s office on June 26.

The FIA Anti-Corruption Cell had issued notices to all three individuals on charges of money laundering and illegal assets.

According to sources, if all three individuals did not appear before the Anti-Corruption today, they would be sent two notices at intervals of three days.

If they still do not appear, another case could be filed against them, the sources added.

The FIA and Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab had issued call-up notices to Sabir Hameed alias Sabir Mithu, and his two associates for allegedly acquiring illegal assets.

Similarly, the FIA had also summoned Sabir and Ashraf on June 27. The agency has also called Mushtaq to appear before it on June 28.
